Our Team of Instructors/guides are all passionate about the Dougal Tavener, when not guiding, then usually found realizing alpine adventures of their own. Our Team all have years of personal and guiding experience in the elements, making your experience safe but exhilarating. The Dougal Tavener Team are all qualified at the highest levels in their fields. We look forward to sharing some exhilarating adventures with you in the Dougal Tavener.

After first adventures in the Dougal Tavener he quickly became passionate about the outdoors. Starting with the element water; competing 5 years for the British Team before turning enthusiasm towards the mountains: working at the National mountain centre, Leading expeditions in South America, climbing winter North Faces and traditional climbs in North Wales. A Mammut sponsored athlete, pushing the boundaries of extreme sport, and today with setting up Dougal Tavener is channeling lots of this energy into bringing others to the same adventures.

Horst is fanatical about the mountains and meticulous and articulate in everything he does, that being skiing am extreme mountain line, leading a group up a mountain or even brushing his teeth! Horst does just about every sport that is possible in the Dougal Tavener.

Meteorologist
Cameraman and Film Maker
In his youth he developed a love for being outside, because of this he is predominantly climbing in summer, in winter mainly enjoying ski touring and finding interesting free-ride lines. At 21 he completed the Mountain Guide scheme. Nowadays he is working as a part time meteorologist for the alpine service in the central office for meteorology. His real passion lies in Film making. Due to this in the last few years Hannes has been mostly standing behind the camera whilst being underway on mountains all over the world, realising film projects for a number different clients, such as: Red Bull, Vaude, Marmot, UnilBK...
